This ambitious project, financed by the French government as part of its recovery plan, represents a great opportunity for its international growth and reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Ceva Animal Health has inaugurated its new European distribution logistics platform located in Montpon-Ménestérol (Dordogne, France). This ambitious project, financed by the French government as part of its recovery plan, represents a great opportunity for its international growth and reaffirms its commitment to innovation, regional development and sustainability.
Ceva presented its new logistics center in Montpon-Ménestérol, located 40 km from the company’s historic headquarters and one of its main campuses in Libourne. This platform, designed to store and ship products developed by Ceva in Europe, improves its export capabilities and reinforces its international presence. With a physical presence in 47 countries, 21 innovation and development centers and 33 production sites, Ceva aims to turn Montpon-Ménestérol into its first European logistics center capable of serving more than 100 countries.
Equipped with the latest digital and automation technologies, this new center represents the future of distribution. The 12,000 m2 dedicated to storage cells have a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that optimizes all logistics flows (20,000 pallets stored for 2,800 listed products), from receipt to shipping, and includes three-way autonomous forklifts that facilitate storage and order preparation. These innovations ensure maximum efficiency, reduce delivery times and optimize the supply chain.
Sustainable site aligned with Ceva’s commitments
The construction of this new logistics center is part of the company’s efforts to achieve a controlled and sustainable environmental footprint. The building occupies just 10% of the site’s 14 hectares, dedicating the rest to preserving biodiversity and protecting more than 54 species of birds. The facility aims to be energy self-sufficient in the long term, thanks to a virtuous energy mix that includes twenty geothermal probes and 1,500 m² of photovoltaic panels that produce 50% of the energy consumed, along with optimized lighting management and better building insulation.
Water resource management, which includes the recovery of 20 m³ of rainwater, reinforces this commitment. These measures reduce energy consumption by half compared to a traditional platform of the same capacity. It is the group’s first building to obtain BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification, which evaluates criteria such as energy management, employee quality of life and biodiversity efforts. This international recognition is the result of months of collaboration with the distribution teams and the architect Bruno Jammet, co-creating a project that responds to the needs of employees, guaranteeing their well-being and meeting the highest standards of quality, sustainability and security.
“We are extremely proud to inaugurate our new logistics platform in Montpon-Ménestérol, which perfectly embodies the ambitions of our group. This project not only reflects our desire to strengthen our international position, but also our responsibility to the environment, our region and the local community. By continuing to invest in innovative, local and environmentally friendly industries, we are laying the foundation for the company of the future,” explained Dr. Marc Prikazsky, President and CEO of Ceva.
