Elanco presents the Vetnia 24 Symposium under the motto “Animal health and professional well-being. “Cheek to cheek”

From November 20 to 21 in Madrid, veterinary professionals will receive scientific and practical training in the areas of parasitology, orthopedics, feline medicine, dermatology and internal medicine.

The Vetnia by Elanco symposium “Animal health and professional well-being. Cheek to cheek”, organized by Elanco Animal Health, will take place from November 20 to 21 in different locations in Madrid.

In this professional meeting, Elanco provides not only specialized training in veterinary medicine, contributing to the development of professionals, but also provides advice and relevant information to help the veterinarian take care of their well-being.

With the concept “Cheek to Cheek”, inspired by the song from the movie “Top Hat” performed by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Elanco wants to symbolize the vision that the veterinary profession requires maintaining a rhythm and balance that allows for reconciling responsibilities of veterinarians with their professional well-being.

“The veterinary profession is very vocational and goes beyond ensuring the health of animals. Assuming this responsibility means facing daily challenges that, although rewarding, can complicate the work and affect the well-being of veterinarians, as demonstrated by several surveys on the work stress of our group. At Elanco, we want to help professionals improve the balance between work and well-being. To do this, it is essential to have not only technical knowledge but also tools that help maintain this harmony. Technical knowledge in animal health and professional welfare

With this perspective, the symposium will address two areas:

1. Professional technical knowledge, with conferences and workshops given by specialists in feline medicine, parasitology, dermatology, orthopedics and internal medicine.
2. Professional well-being, with tips and tools to improve well-being, offered by experts in assertive communication, mental health and work stress.

• Jaume Fatjó: Director of Vetbonds, Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Legal Medicine, Autonomous University of Barcelona.
• Mar Félix: Speaker and Communication Trainer. Leadership in veterinary clinics and veterinary cardiology service, Mallorca.
• Lluís Ferrer: DVM, PhD, Dip ECVD. Dermatologist at Hospital Clínic Veterinari- UAB and Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
• Elena García: Graduate in Veterinary Medicine and Master in Applied Ethology from the UAB. Collaborator of the Affinity Animals and Health Foundation Chair at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

• Margot Ruíz: DVM. Head of the Traumatology service at the Evidensia Mediterráneo Veterinary Hospital, Madrid.
• Carlos Vich: DVM. Diploma from the ESAVS (European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies) in dermatology, Founder of the Dermovet Veterinary Dermatology service, Barcelona.

This symposium is part of the VETNIA program, created and promoted by Elanco, whose main objectives are to support the importance of the veterinary profession in society, promote the knowledge, training and health of professionals, promote the growth of veterinary clinics and provide effective and safe solutions for patient care.
